What if I want an unfinished Tera House (Shell build)?

We don’t provide shell or unfinished tiny home.

Do you sell the building plans for your models?

No, we do not sell our floor plans as they are proprietary.

I noticed a few dealerships are now selling your Tera Homes. What does this mean?

This means you can now buy a Tera house directly from a nearby dealer! Contact a dealership nearest you to discuss your options.

Do you offer wholesale pricing on multiple orders?

What is the first step to apply for a permit to put a tiny home on a property in Ontario?

The first step is to contact your local dealer to obtain the necessary application forms and discuss the specific requirements for your municipality. A completed application form, drawings, and any other supporting documents requested will be submitted to the municipality by your dealer. Costs for permit fees vary by municipality. How long does it take to get a permit approved?

The timeline for permit approval can vary, but it typically takes a few weeks. For more details, please contact your local dealer.

Do I need to hire a professional?

While it’s not always required, your local dealer is best equipped to help facilitate and expedite the approval process.

What are the key considerations before adding an Tiny Home in your region?

Normally before adding an additional duelling unit, we need to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable laws in your region. Our Tera Homes are CSA certified which mean they are already compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable laws.

How many additional dwelling units can I add to my property?

Depending on the region, we can add up to two additional dwelling units on a lot with a principal dwelling, either as two separate units within the same building or one unit within the building and one coach house on the same lot.

What are the requirements for lots with private services like septic or well water?

Lots with private services are limited to one additional dwelling unit or coach house. We will help confirm that the existing septic system can accommodate the additional load.

Reserve your place in production! This deposit will put you next in line.

Step 3:

Let’s help you get your finances in order. This is the stage where you will want to get your financing approved (if applicable).

Let’s help you find a home for your Tera Home (if applicable). If you are looking for a place to put your Tera Home, we can help you find one by matching you with a network on property owners that are ready to connect with you!

Let’s Make it Official - Finalize your selections and sign the Purchase Agreement!

How long is the build time frame?

The manufacturing lead time is 8 weeks. We will do our best to start your Tera Home as soon as possible, but this depends on the number of units we are currently working on. We typically place orders 6-7 months in advance of the Homes’ completion.

Where are you located?

WE ARE PROUDLY CANADIAN! Our manufacturing facility is in Ottawa, ON, Canada. We regularly ship across the CANADA and USA!

Can I visit where the Tiny House RVs are manufactured?

We do not allow viewings at our manufacturing facility. However, we can schedule viewings of our finished products at a separate location by appointment only. Please contact us for availability! We do not accept or facilitate any unscheduled/drop-in visits.

Does do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we offer a limited warranty on all manufacturing defects for your Tera Home!

What is the payment process?

Once you have secured a lot, gotten pre-approved for financing by your lender (if required), are happy with your sales agreement, you can secure your place in production!

For this, we require a 15% non-refundable retainer. This retainer will allow us to begin the manufacturing process and begin fabrication of your chassis/foundation. This is where we provide you with your VIN number which will be required so that you can access your financing (if applicable).

Your Tera Home must be paid in full prior to delivery.

Do I need to prep my site?

Yes, it’s important to prepare your site. We recommend either pad (gravel or concrete), or Helical Piles. Additionally, you should be ready for winter conditions by having a backup generator and extra propane bottles. For more details, please contact your local dealer.

I found a great site, but it has no septic or power. Do you build Tera houses for off-grid?

We will work with you to make your Tera Home off-grid ready and introduce you to the specialist that will have your set it up. This includes features like propane heating, a composting toilet, 12V lighting, and propane appliances. For more details, please contact your local dealer.

Where can I park the Tera House?

Our Tera Homes are deemed as Recreational Vehicles and meet CSA Standard and Ontario Building Codes, so you can park them in most places where RVs, Mobile Homes and Coach Homes are allowed. Just make sure to check local bylaws that might affect your location. For more details, please contact your local dealer.

If I am not going off-grid, what hookups will I need on site?

Our standard models are equipped for on-site electricity, and we recommend having a 50A connection available. Each house comes with a 3” grey water and black water hookup for septic/sewer connections, and the water connection uses a simple garden hose. We can provide a power cord, sewer hookups, and a water hose to get you set up right away. For more details, please contact your local dealer.

Is my Tera House equipped for cold winters?

We use closed cell spray foam insulation for the walls and floors R-value of R24 and roof has a R-Value of R24. Insulated skirting around the base of the home needs to be installed to manage temperature shifts. For extreme winter climates, we recommend upgrades like a propane forced air furnace or an Arctic mini split (220V). For more details, please contact your local dealer.
